This policy covers both the Chill & Shine website (chillandshine.com) and the Chill & Shine mobile application ("the App").
What We Collect
Website
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your first name and email address. That's it.
Mobile App
The App stores the following data locally on your device:
- Session history and streaks – to track your mindfulness progress.
- Journal entries and daily intentions – the text you write stays on your device.
- Smile Album photos – photos you capture or select are stored in the App's private storage on your device. These photos are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.
The App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All your data remains on your device.
Camera Permission
The App requests access to your device camera solely to let you take photos for your personal Smile Album. Camera access is optional – you can deny the permission and still use all other features. Photos taken through the App are saved only to the App's local storage on your device and are never sent anywhere.
How We Use Your Data
We use your email (collected through the website) to send you our weekly newsletter. We don't sell, share, or rent your information to anyone. Data stored by the App remains entirely on your device and is not accessible to us.
Cookies
The website uses minimal cookies for basic functionality. No tracking cookies, no ad networks, no third-party analytics that follow you around the web. The App does not use cookies.
Data Storage and Deletion
All App data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your data at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all locally stored data, including your Smile Album photos, journal entries, and session history.
Your Rights
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in every email. You can delete all App data by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage. If you want your website data removed entirely, contact us and we'll take care of it.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
